Under The Mountain Sales Policy

We have implemented this sales policy to protect ourselves (the Seller), you (the Buyer), and the animal(s). These terms and conditions are non-negotiable. By sending a deposit or placing a reservation on an animal, you (the Buyer) indicate that you agree with these terms.

Breeder’s Rights:

  • We, the breeders at Under The Mountain, reserve the right to retain any kid born on our farm.

  • We reserve the right to retain any animal at any time during the sales process.

  • We reserve the right to sell our goats to the homes that we feel will be the best fit for them.

Deposits:

  • A non-refundable deposit of half the purchase price is required to purchase a goat from Under The Mountain.

  • We will not hold any animal without a deposit.

  • If the goat becomes ill, injured, or dies while in our care, the deposit will be refunded.

  • If you (the Buyer) decide not to complete the sale after the deposit is made, the deposit will not be refunded.

Final Payment:

  • The remaining balance must be paid in full either before or at the time of pick-up.

  • All final payments made at pick-up must be in cash.

  • No animal will leave the farm unless paid for in full.

  • All sales are final.

Guarantees:

  • We offer no guarantees other than that the animal is healthy at the time of departure.

  • We will not sell a sick animal.

  • We make no guarantees of coat color, eye color, or being polled.

Buying Kids:

  • None of the kids born at Under The Mountain will be disbudded. They will grow their horns unless they are naturally polled.

  • Tattoos and any necessary vaccinations are part of our closed herd routines and will be up to date. Hoof trimming and worming (if needed) will also be done.

  • All registerable kids can be registered with ADGA and AGS.

  • We do not sell bottle babies. Kids will be weaned at 2 months old but may not go to their new homes unless they are eating feed well.

Right of Refusal:

  • We retain the right of refusal.

  • We do not air ship or have any transporters. We have the right to refuse a transporter if we feel it is in the best interest of our animals.

  • Farm pick-ups only. We are located in Llano, Texas 78643.

Pick-ups:

  • We want pick-ups to go smoothly and in a timely manner. We appreciate buyers who are on top of things when it comes to pick-up.

  • At the time of the deposit, we will discuss pick-up. Please be prepared with a safe, secure way to transport your goat(s). We recommend using an appropriately sized dog kennel (the kind with plastic sides) with hay in the bottom for comfort.

  • Kids: Kids will be picked up around weaning age, and an exact date will be set closer to weaning time.

  • Adults: Adults will be picked up at an agreed-upon date not to exceed 30 days after the deposit is placed or when transport is arranged.

Scheduled Pick-up Dates:

  • 1st Scheduled Date: If you pick up on the first scheduled date, we greatly appreciate you!

  • 2nd Scheduled Date: If you need to reschedule, we will charge a $3 a day boarding fee per animal until pick-up. The boarding fee is to be paid at the time of scheduling the 2nd pick-up date. If the boarding fee is not paid and/or you don’t show up for pick-up, all money paid will be forfeited, and the animal may be placed back on the sales list.

Buyer Liability Clause:

  • The Buyer acknowledges and agrees that they are fully responsible for the transportation of any goats purchased from Under The Mountain. The Buyer assumes all risks associated with the transportation of the goats, including but not limited to injury, illness, or death of the goats during transit. The Seller shall not be held liable for any damages, losses, or claims arising from the transportation of the goats once they have been transferred to the Buyer’s care. The Buyer agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Seller from any and all liabilities, costs, and expenses incurred as a result of the transportation of the goats.

Seller-Provided Transport Clause:

  • If the Seller agrees to provide transport, the Buyer will assume full responsibility for the goats upon delivery. The Buyer acknowledges and agrees that the Seller shall not be held liable for any damages, losses, or claims arising from the transportation of the goats once they have been delivered to the Buyer’s specified location. The Buyer agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Seller from any and all liabilities, costs, and expenses incurred as a result of the transportation of the goats. The Buyer also acknowledges that seller-provided transport may incur additional costs, which will be communicated and agreed upon prior to transport.
